Four years of Getting Hooked (again) and boy did I get hooked!!!!

I'm full of ideas and inspiration at the moment.
I just wish I could crochet quicker lol!!!
I think you know what I mean, like I'm busy working on a project and another idea just pops into my head.
When I was younger I would have just started on the new idea and end up having don't know how many WIP.
And of course that meant that not many of them got finished.

Now, however I try, (yes I really try) not to have more than two projects going at once.
And I have to finish them.
Living up to these rules isn't always easy.
But I'm working on two projects at the moment so that is ok.

It's now March 5th and I'd forgotten that on March 3rd this blog was 4 years old.
So, a couple of days too late but I got to thinking about just how many blankets have I made, and finished (very important) since I started this blog?
So, here they are.

This was the first one I made.
I ordered the yarn for this online and when I got it it was much darker than I really wanted, but I finished it all the same.
And I didn't know about joining as you go then so I stitched it together.

In between making this granny and the next blanket I made stuff that I ended up pulling apart.

Then came this hexagon blanket.

Which I still love to this day.
I have it over hanging over a chair in one of the bedrooms.
It's been washed a lot (because the cats love it too) and it still looks good.

Then I fell in love with Japanese Flowers.

Didn't know when I'd finished this one it would be the first of three.
It's made with the same yarn as the hexagon blanket (which has been discontinued....) so it washes up well.
It's home is our sofa bed.

Then I made three large granny square blankets for my granddaughters, Megan, Emily & Katie.

Two wanted pink so one was light pink in the middle the other dark pink in the middle and the other one blue.

Then a ripple in Cath Kidston Colours.

It ended up going to my Daughter Sarah.
And she still loves it I'm glad to say.

And then another Japanese Blanket

In this photo it wasn't quite finished I had one more row to join and the edging to add.
But this is the only photo where you can see almost all of it.
This hangs a crossed the bottom of our bed.

And then yet another Japanese Blanket.

This one went to my Granddaughter Libby.

Then her brother wanted a blanket too so back to grannies.

The photos of this blanket are not really that good because it was and is lovely.
And my Grandson Chris loves it.

And the last one I've made so far.

The multi-coloured black granny for my son Tim.
So there you have it 11 blankets made and finished over the past 4 years since starting this blog.

And I still have another couple to make for Family members.
But first I have to finish the two I'm working on now!!!!

White Multi-Coloured Blanket

The other project I'm working on at the moment is this one.

Another Multi-coloured blanket but this time joined with white.

This blanket is for myself this time.
It's made up of three round granny squares.
All the squares are finished so it's just a question of joining now.

I'm really pleased with both of these granny blankets, (that is this one and the one from my last post) because I've used up loads of small balls of yarn I had on them.

However, I've started yet another new project which I am also working on.
But more about that in my next post.

Old Project

Having finished my last project, the granny square blanket for my grandson Chris.
I'm back working on an old project I started last year.
(For which I had all the coloured grannies done by the way, I ask myself why I didn't finish it back then.)

So I'm making all these granny squares into a retro style multi coloured black granny square blanket.

I've started joining and have the first row done, that is the first of 12 rows.
They are four round squares for which I'd used up loads of leftover yarn.
And I'm going around them with black and then joining as I go with black.
So they end up being 6 round grannies.

And this blanket is for my son Tim.

I think this will be a quick one because all the coloured parts are already done.

Have a great weekend.

Granny Square Blanket For Chris

Last Thursday I finished this granny square blanket for my Grandson Chris.
It took me exactly six weeks to make.

I love the way it turned out and hope he likes it too.

I used 16 different colours all greens and blues for the first three rounds of the squares.
The 4th round is off white.
And the 5th and joining round is middle gray.

It's 9 squares wide and 14 squares long.

I also love the edging which I found here.

All with all I'm really pleased with the way it has turned out.

Now I'm really into granny squares again and I'm working on my Multi coloured black joined granny blanket I started last year.

Remember This?????

Finished at last!!!!!!

Just before Christmas I stopped working on it and just couldn't seem to get back into it.
But I'm pleased to say I pulled myself together and have now finished it.
Here are some of the colour details.

The colours are abit deeper than in the photos.
And our cat Bo loves it and seems to think I made it just for her.

However, I didn't, it's for our granddaughter Elizabeth.
So I'll be sending it to her tomorrow together with my ripple blanket (above) which I'm giving to my daughter Sarah (Elizabeth's Mum).
I'm so glad it's finished at last!!!!

Projects I Started In 2012 and Want To Finish In 2013 Part 4

I still haven't finished my multi-coloured Japanese Flower blanket yet.
Somewhere in October I just put down my hook and I couldn't seem to get back into it again.
There is not so far to go really I'll be getting back to it soon.

2013 is going to be a great crochet year!! Finishing old projects and planning new ones.
Well, to be honest I already have a couple planned already.

Projects I Started In 2012 and Want To Finish In 2013 Part 2

2. Five Round Granny Square Blanket

This is going to be a very colourful granny squared blanket joined with black.
The black will be the 5th round.
So as you can see in the centre of the photo I did one square with the black to try it out.
I'm using up loads of my odd bits of leftover yarn for this one.

First Real Post of 2013

It's something I do at the end of the year, that is look back and review the old one.
Well, I was going to go off on a negative note about how I've hardly finished anything in 2012.
And that I haven't blogged much.
But then I thought, " come on Chris not so negative it's a new year with new possibilities right?"
So, firstly I'm going to take a look at the things I did finish.

The Things I did Finish

Two blankets!!!
No need to be negative is there.
Although 2012 was the year where starting a project seemed more interesting than finishing it.

I have five projects on going at this moment!!!
But more about them in the coming days.
2013 will be the year I finish them!!!

Love & A Happy New Year to you all!!!

First Row Done

My first row is now finished, just 12 more to finish off.

All the odd numbered rows have 15 flowers and the even numbered ones 14 flowers.

Our new kitten Bo (she's nearly six months old now) seems to like it too!!!!

People have often asked me about the pattern.
Well I got the chart pattern when it was posted on a site before they were asked to remove it because of the copyright.
It comes from a Japanese crochet book.
Well, today I found a blog post showing how to make the flower the same way as I've made them.
It's a German blog but the picture are clear.
http://rosa-r.blogspot.de/2011/03/chrochet-flower-tutorial.html
If you put the directions under the pictures into the google translater you can get the pattern.

Have a great evening all!!!!
