First Row Done
My first row is now finished, just 12 more to finish off.
All the odd numbered rows have 15 flowers and the even numbered ones 14 flowers.
Our new kitten Bo (she's nearly six months old now) seems to like it too!!!!
People have often asked me about the pattern.
Well I got the chart pattern when it was posted on a site before they were asked to remove it because of the copyright.
It comes from a Japanese crochet book.
Well, today I found a blog post showing how to make the flower the same way as I've made them.
It's a German blog but the picture are clear.

If you put the directions under the pictures into the google translater you can get the pattern.
Have a great evening all!!!!

Sunday Sun & More Hobby Stuff
It's a wonderful sunny day today.
Did some tidying up in the garden today and yesterday.
Although these are weeds and will have to go they look quite cute.
Yesterday my new Cookie Cutters came can't wait to get started creating new clay stuff with them.

What I've Been Upto Part 4
And now for something completely different!!!!
No crochet, but a new hobby!!!
I was inspired a couple of weeks ago to have ago at making things with clay.
Using cookie cutters to cut out the shapes.
I used Polymer Air-Dry clay, which as the name suggests will dry without having to fire it or bake it.
I rolled out the clay with a small plastic rolling pin.
Making the textured look in the clay is easy too.
Just take a dollie, crocheted or paper and put it on top of your already rolled out clay, then roll over it gentally with your rolling pin.
Or just make patterns in the clay with stuff you have around the house, like the little star pattern in the one above.
I then used my cookie cutters to cut out the shapes.
I didn't use a cookie cutter for the one with the stars, which you can see but I still think it look good.
I made a hole to put the ribbon through by carefully push a drinking strew through to the otherside.
On the packet it says 24 hours but some of mine took a bit longer than that to dry out.
When they were dry I gave them two coats of vanish.
After the vanish dried I add the ribbon.
The one above I pushed into a cake form to get this pattern.
I'm going to be having lots of fun with this new hobby in the future.
I've always had a thing about cookie cutters I love them, and all the shapes and sizes they come in.
So I'm looking out to buy some new ones and see what I can create with them.
I've already made some Christmasy plain ones, I'll be making more of these to give away as gifts.

What I've I Been Upto Part 2
I also finished my Ripple blanket.
In the end I didn't make it as big as Mia's one.
I just got to the point where I thought it was big enough.
Big enough to snuggle under.
By the way, the links in my post about the ripple blanket on Mia's site won't work anymore.
It seems that Mia stopped blogging, no one seems to know why.
I think it's a pity because it was a blog that really inspired me.
I love the way it turned out, I would never have thought of putting these colours together.
The idea is Mia's idea and she based it on the Cath Kidston colours.

What I've Been Upto Part 1
What have I been up to?
Well my last post was about my flower blanket that I said was finished.
Well, I decided to put an edging on it.
It just seemed to be the right thing to do just to bring it all together and make it a bit stronger.
Just a simple single crochet picot edging.
I think it brings it more together.

It's Finished
My flowered blanket is finished!!!
I finished it last week to be honest but just didn't get around to posting this post until now.
So it was finished in March like I hoped it would be.
13 rows all together.
The odd rows are rows of 15 flowers.
The even rows are rows of 14 flowers.
So 189 flowers all together.
I took a couple of photos of it spread on the floor but they didn't come out right, so I'll take a couple more soon.
I'm really pleased with it!!!

Getting There
My flower blanket is coming along nicely again.
I'd put it down for a while and that is something you shouldn't really do.
But I managed to get some joining done this week (at last).
So here it is.....
Nine rows
Ten rows
All the flowers for rows 11 & 12 are done and ready to be joined, the blanket will be 13 rows altogether.
So nearly there!!!!!
