About my ripple blanket, which is coming along nicely by the way.
The idea behind this blanket is not my own, so I'm giving credit where credit is due in this post.
The idea and indeed the pattern came from Mia over at Mia's Landliv.
Mia's lives in Norway but she blogs in English.
Her blog is such a treat to read and the photos of her home, garden and hobby projects are amazing.
If you are planning to pop over there I'd say make yourself a nice warm drink first and then go through her whole blog it really is a treat!!!
I loved Mia´s ripple so much when I first saw it in 2010 that I just wanted to make a copy of it.
Mia as made three of these ripple all together all in wonderful colour combinations.
See here, here and here.
One thing that is different about my blanket is that I had to make one colour change.
Mia used three shades of pink in her blanket, well, the yarn I´m using didn´t come in three shades of pink, so I replaced one of the pinks with lilac.
The blanket is inspired by the Cath Kidston colours.
And I think Mia used wool for her blanket while my yarn is an100% Acrylic yarn and an Acrylic wool mix yarn.
It´s a big blanket I´ve got somewhere between the 40 and 50 rows to go now.
But because I never have lose ends, I work them away while I go, I can even use the blanket even if it isn´t quite finished yet.
For example last week it was really cold here we didn´t go above 0 thoughout the day.
So when I got up in the morning I´d put the heating on and then snuggle under my blanket until it warmed up.
I really am loving this blanket, thanks Mia!!! For your inspiration and the pattern.
Have a great Day!!!
Chris Xx

This is so pretty. Nice work Chris.
ReplyDeleteYour blanket is very beautiful! And very big! Wow! Love the colors. I've never done a ripple -- but do love a granny stripe. I gotta get better about working in the ends as I go and having a neat finish. Wishing you a wonderful day. Tammy
ReplyDeleteWow! It looks really big already. Wonderful colors. And yes. Mia's blog is just as wonderful as your blanket. This blanket will be perfect for spring time. Nice job!
ReplyDeleteWell done you Chris (even if yo have a bit more to go)! The blanket looks great, I am so proud of you (and of the fact that in some small part I inspired you to make it).
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for you most kind words about my blog. You really made me blush (with delight!)
Hi Chris! Love the ripple blanket.. I must admit, I have had trouble with ripples and am only just starting to make some sense of how they work so i am very appreciative of the work and time you have put into creating such a lovely piece of work.. Congratulations.... :))
